It’s frustrating to me that romantic has a completely different meaning here than the most common definition of the word. To avoid confusion this should’ve been named romanticism.

I understand it's frustrating, but most people don't think "classical music" when they hear the word "romantic".

@TheDarthsala I'm well aware what the term means. And you're wrong, you CAN tag "commercial bullshit like Iglesias, Bolton and Lionel Richie" with"'romantic", because that's how MOST people use the word. Complaining that people are using the tag to mean the most commonly understood definition of the word is ridiculous. My point is that if it REALLY matters that only romantic era musicians are part of the tag, use something that distinguishes it... like "Romantic classical" or something like that.

The term "romantic" as you use it, is an everyday-talk degeneration of the original sense of the word.

@psychoTEDDY You need to understand that "romantic" is a term for poetical and musical movements of the 19th century. You simply can't tag commercial bullshit like Iglesias, Bolton and Lionel Richie as "romantic" as they don't belong to the musical tradition of Chopin, Tchaikovsky and Schubert e.g.

"'Romantic' and 'Romance' are not the same thing." <----- That's like saying "Melancholic" and "Melancholy" are not the same thing. Which is stupid.

Furthermore, here are three other tags in use that only have classical musicians: "Romantic classical ", "Romantic period", "Romantic era". Use one of those.

If you want to tag things from the romantic era, tag it as 'romantic era' [4] ..."'Romantic' and 'Romance' are not the same thing. " <---- They are actually the same thing. Romantic is an adjective, Romance is a noun. But, they refer to the same thing. Here, from part of this tag's own description: "'romantic' is an adjective often used to describe music related to romance and love. "
