This is totally in my top five favourite black metal-albums ever. Absolutely incredible record, and one that sadly and ironically made most depressive black metal somewhat unappealing to me, as there is hardly any that come even close to this (Gris' sophomore and Tardigrada's Emotionale Ödnis maybe).

A deep journey through sadness and despair. I mean, every second here is pure raw emotion. Magical record and, as said before, a masterpiece.

Drumming here is incredible, new level of black metal standards for me. It's great enough that it's comparable to "Lay Like Old Ashes" by Austere. It's very similar while it's also very different, but both supply themselves to be beautiful melancholy-heart-piercing-milestones in my music journey.

This album is a gem. Easily one of the top 5 Depressive Black Metal albums of all time in my books, along with Austere's "To Lay Like Old Ashes".

Why is this so perfect? I was always thinking that it's outstanding, but now it gets only better.

Genuinely inspired, in stark contrast to the apathetic nature of most black metal these days. That's what makes this album exceptional.

So very, very good, it has an almost etheral quality that's just unfathomable. Feels like something that's been haunting your dreams, just out of your reach. Maybe its the distortion and white noise, maybe it's just genius songwriting, whatever it is, Torn Beyond Reason is a masterpiece.
