Love this song. One of my all time favorite bands! U2 are deep and emotional and I connect with them on so many levels. They make me rock, dance, sing and cry.

Damn, what a great song. This song exemplifies all that is great about U2. I'm sure they could very easily write cheasy pop songs about horse shit topics like most of the other garbage bands out there, but I remember Bono once said that a true artist choses to "Reveal rather than conceal" and that's what makes them great. He is right, obviously this song is incredibly personal and these lyrics are absolutely heartfelt by Bono. I haven't spoken to my father in years, and this song just always tears me up..... I appreciate the fact that there are bands out there like U2, who continue to be original and choose to lead instead of follow.

Heartbreaking song...for those who don't know, Bono wrote this after his father, who he was estranged with, passed away. Mark of a great artist when they can put their pain into words and record a song they can share with people!

Saw this when U2 played on SNL. An epic night that was...they played not twice, but FOUR times.

I once read where Bono said the sign of a true artist was their ability to "reveal rather than conceal". Think of all the sh*t music that is out there today, just utter mindless garbage....people like Bon JOvi and Dave Mathews come to mind. Bono and the guys have been fairly consistent in putting out truly insightful and introspective material throughout their career together. You have to appreciate that and respect it as well. It's unfortunate that they are one of only a few who do that. There are so many shit bands out there today, who are just producing mindless cheez whiz that really serves no purpose at all, and doesn't touch you in the way that music should touch you, or speak to you.. It's just filler, nothing more nothing less.
