if it wasn't for Rhodes' poor production, this album would be sooo much better. i can't understand why joe's voice is so low in the mix

poor production, eletronic drums, weak composition... the only thing that saves here is: this is england

I think that most of that it's because they kicked Mick Jones out on this album, and it can be their worst album, but it's no "shit"

Probably the worst production I have ever heard. Shame as there's a good Clash record buried here somewhere underneath the mess. This Is England is brilliant.

Far better than its lowly reputation would suggest, but it's still not very good, especially when you compare it to the amazing albums they'd made before. They needed Mick.

I find it amusing how no one knows who the choir is on this album, and nobody bothers to ask questions about who they were.

Truly one of the worst albums I ever listened to, coming from a huge Clash fan too. Such a sad and avoidable end to one of the greatest bands to walk to face of the earth.

And then they say Green Day releases bad albums??? Compare American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown with this and now say if those albums are crap. I love The Clash, I recognize I'm a very new fan, didn't discover them before, they're amazing, but this??? Real crap.

It's obviously not the best album ever, but it's not nearly as bad as I heard. I'd give it like 2 1/2 stars. Dirty Punk, We Are The Clash, and This Is England are pretty good.

First time listening and I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Not keen on the whole chanting thing going on.

the album just oozes ego. i mean, i love joe strummer, but he took it too far with this album. i'm guessing that he needed this album to fail to realize that he was fooling himself by keeping "The Clash" going when this album is so far away from actually being the Clash

I like most of this album, only a few tracks i don't really care about. This is England, Movers and Shakers, play to Win, are my favourite ones. If the album had better production like Combat Rock it would have been better. Though its still weird/eerie listening to cut the crap when the only original member on the album is Joe, kind of depressing.

Of course, nothing by any The Clash standards. In terms of being experimental sandinista! clearly turned out better, but this is still interesting. Three Card Trick is my favourite, This is England is class and the whole album has a very 80s feel to it which i really like. I rather this album exists than it doesn't.
