Pink Frost by The Chills, one of the most popular tracks to come out of the so-called Dunedin Scene in New Zealand, was released in 1984 after being recorded in 1982. The song's lyrics are a story about a character who killed the woman he loves in his sleep, the plot of the song happens right after he discovers what he'd done. Eventually, The Chills re-recorded and re-released the song under the creative new title "Pink Frost 13" on Bandcamp in 2014. Besides being released as a single several times, the song has appeared on compilation albums Kaleidoscope World and Tuatara, which contained songs from a wide variety of Flying Nun bands. The song has been covered by bands such as House of Love, Babyland, and Joel RL Phillips and the Downer Trio.
