NiziU (Kanji: 虹U; Hangul: 니쥬) is a Japanese girl group under JYP Entertainment and Sony Music Japan based in South Korea, formed by JYP Entertainment through season 1 of the Japanese survival show Nizi Project. The group consists of 9 members: Mako, Riku, Rima, Rio, Maya, Miihi, Mayuka, Ayaka and Nina.
Following the group’s formation via Nizi Project, and prior to the group’s official debut, NiziU featured in the music video for Stray Kids’s 2020 song ‘God’s Menu’.
They released a pre-debut digital mini album titled ‘Make You Happy’ on June 29, 2020. Five months later, the group officially debuted on December 2, 2020 with the single album ’Step and a Step’.
On November 21, 2021, NiziU released their debut full-length studio album ‘U’.
The group made their South Korea debut on October 30, 2023, with their debut Korean-language single album ‘Press Play’, featuring the lead single ‘HEARTRIS’, which featured Stray Kids’s Felix in the music video.
