Biography

Born on July 1st 1988 in Karlstad, Sweden, Manric (Henric Johansson) was introduced to music at a very early age. His father was a double bassist who toured across Sweden and Norway in an orchestra, whilst Henric grew up listening to Abba, Human League and Annelie Ryde records, as well as the Soundtrack to a 1960’s musical about the hippie culture occurring at the time.

Throughout his childhood, he would sing and dance around his house, and make pretend radio shows, where he would record and interview himself onto cassette, as well as playing and singing his favourite songs. He also began performing in his early adolescent years, but this was short-lived, as he performed in a local show miming to the danish pop duo called 'Toy Box', and got the buzz out of performing in front of an audience.

In his teenage years, Manric had aspirations to become a professional dancer, although after he failed to gain entry to a Swedish dance college, his dancing career had come to an end.

Now, at age 19, Manric has developed an interest in dance/electronic music such as Depeche Mode, Dannii Minogue and The Knife. In late 2006, he came in contact with a Swedish producer named Peter Werne, and they recorded a pop/dance track entitled "You Go To My Head", a cover originally performed by late 1980's Swedish pop group "Trance Dance". Manric's latest song with Peter Werne is called "Get Down" The songs, amongst others, can be heard at Manric's official myspace (http://www.myspace.com/manricmusic).
