Great song. Just finished the first season 20 minutes ago. Had only seen some snippets in my childhood, this time finally getting to see the actual show, which was actually very cool. This however I've known all my life :)

Miami Vice, Literally a series that was ahead of it's time. What an era. The nostalgia is real man. Been re-watching the entire series these past months, and what a time. Don't think any show can come close too it these days. Sad that the era, is long past. Iconic storyline, themes, instrumentals, characters and so much more. Legendary. What a theme, and soundtrack too it! Just masterpieces.

The history of cars in this series is interesting to say the least. You write how Ferrari has already donated a white Testarossa to them for the filmed scenes. But before that they faked the Ferrari Spider by driving a Corvette :) And the best scene with the car and with "Brothers in arms" in the background comes from that period :)

Although not a big success in the United States, the song was a smash hit in the UK, reaching #2 in the singles chart there. It was a #1 in the Netherlands for 4 weeks. It was not originally called "Crockett's Theme", but its success led Jan Hammer to feature the original version on his 1987 album Escape from Television. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crockett%27s_Theme

Ahhhh, fast expensive cars, 5 o'clock shadow, a fashionably wrinkled linen suit, unbearably hot & loose women peoples galore. And the cherry to top it all: An array of very large caliber firearms with endless amounts of ammo for stopping the baddest of bad guys in under 60 minutes. Ahh, the memories. THE ultimate fantasy of every guy in the midst of a mid-life crisis....(or so my Dad told me)

Never watched the show, never played the game, but this song makes me want to time travel back to the '80s even more than "Power of Love." What a perfect mood.
