Ira! was a rock band from São Paulo, Brazil. Formed by Nasi (vocal), Edgard Scandurra (guitar), Ricardo Gaspa (bass) and André Jung (drums). The band's name was inspired by the Irish Republican Army, and it is also the portuguese word for "anger".
Ira! was formed in 1981, by Nasi, Scandurra, Fábio Scattone (drums) and Adilson Fajardo (bass). But its final formation was only reached in 1985, when Ricardo Gaspa and André Jung (former member of fellow brazilian band Titãs) joined the band.
Their songs were strongly influenced by the Mod sound of The Who, the hard rock of Led Zeppelin and the punk rock of The Clash.
After making it big in the 80s, Ira! faded away in the 90s, regained some popularity in the 00s and eventually split in 2007, making it's comeback only in 2014, with a new formation that stays to this day: Nasi, Edgard Scandurra, Evaristo Pádua, and Johnny Boy
