This song contrast starkly with a previous track, “Be a Body” wherein Grimes states she needs no hands to touch her. Here she reveals a far more vulnerable side as physical contact evokes painful and unwanted emotions. She’s less disembodied and removed as she has been throughout most of the record, the lyrics of the song are really pushed to the forefront and are very open and sincere. Grimes mentions taking drugs while recording Visions, and this song comes at the end of the record where her sensations return to her and she is feeling far more grounded in reality as the high wears off. She needs her lover to console her but she is not given the affection she needs in such a fragile state.
