G.Q. was an American R & B group formed in Bronx, New York. The group was first formed in 1968 as a quartet called Sabu & the Survivors. The group began experiencing major success in the late 1970's after changing their name to GQ and playing music representative of the period's disco influenced sound. They scored a string of R&B hits in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
