The track "Breath of Life" by Florence + The Machine was recorded exclusively for the movie "Snow White and The Huntsman" (May 2012) starring Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart. The track, released in April 2012, is a lavish production featuring a 110 piece orchestra, tribal drums and a choir of over 60 backing vocalists. It was co-written by Florence Welch and Isabella Summers from the perspective of the wicked Queen Ravena (Charlize Theron) in the movie. Florence Welch told MTV News “The Queen is just this incredible character; so hungry for life but so dead inside. She’s sort of eternal, but inside there’s nothing. She’s kind of like charcoal or something.. this thirst for youth and for life, but for what kind of life? This darkness, but she’s so beautiful, so it’s this kind of juxtaposition between beauty and, ultimately, death.”
