"How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful" is Florence + The Machine's third studio album. It was released on May 29, 2015 on Island Records - 4 years after the release of the critically acclaimed second album, "Ceremonials" (2011). The album is produced by Markus Dravs (who has worked with Björk, Arcade Fire, Coldplay, Brian Eno, Mumford & Sons), and includes contributions from Paul Epworth and John Hill. A teaser trailer for the album was released on February 10, 2015.

Describing the style of the new album, lead singer, Florence Welch, said, "Ceremonials"was so fixated on death and water, and the idea of escape or transcendence through death, but the new album became about trying to learn how live, and how to love in the world rather than trying to escape from it, which is frightening, because I’m not hiding behind anything, but it felt like something I had to do.”

The first release from the new album is "What Kind of Man".

Upon release, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful was met with generally positive reviews from music critics, who commended the album for its cohesion, production and Welch's vocal delivery. As a critical success, it appeared on several year-end critics' lists in late 2015. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart with 68,788 copies sold in its first week, becoming the band's third consecutive number-one album, while topping the charts in several other markets. Four singles have been released from the album—"What Kind of Man", "Ship to Wreck", "Queen of Peace" and "Deliliah". How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful has earned the band five Grammy Award nominations, in addition to being shortlisted for the 2015 Mercury Prize.
