"Before the Dawn" is an unreleased Evanescence song. David Hodges sings backup vocals for the song and hoped it would make the cut on Fallen, but it didn't fit the concept of the album. The song was recorded during the 2001-2002 demos. It seems to have a similar meaning as "Anywhere" from their demo album, Origin. It is about a couple trying to escape or leave somewhere.
