Chino Moreno sings here from the perspective of a person who has been kidnapped. He explained on Deftones World: “It’s named after a Brazilian female, but its lyrically about a kidnapping scenario. It details a few hours of being held captive. There’s a lot of dialogue in there that was fun to write.”

"The name Feiticeira is some Portuguese name that I read in a magazine and just liked. It's based on the scenario of being taken captive. It's completely fictional. I want that people who listen to it feel like they are the ones in the situation. Because of that I sing it in first person." - Chino

“Feiticeira” is Portuguese for “sorceress”. The name is allegedly inspired by Joana Prado, who played the luscious “Feiticeira” on Brazilian TV, and the members of Deftones came to know through Max Cavalera. Today, she’s the wife\manager of MMA fighter Vitor Belfort, and regrets her days of fame as a sex symbol.
