ngt091: the deadbeats from the 70s is not only a punk band but also a truly great one. way ahead of their time. reminds of both cosmic overdose and dead kennedys in some respects but is actually something totally different, and in my opinion, they pull it off much better. And you can see where dinah cancer and her halfgood/halfbad/actually, most of the time quite cheesy crap band 45grave stole her way of singing + sound.

So I'm jammin Mushroom Jazz 2 b/c it's Saturday and out of curiousity looked up Deadbeats. Just picked up 'Made in the Shade'. Only on track 6 and I think I'm in love. Breathe is fuckin sweeeet with 4 'e's. 'Swing me...' is just what it should be. Simply loving this album.

Right, I picked up a copy of 'DJ Kicks: Nightmares on Wax'. On there was an amazing track called 'Pick Me Up' by Deadbeats. I wanted a copy of this track unmixed and clean so that I could play it out so I purchased a CD called D-World. The version on there is different, so I am presuming that the version on the DJ Kicks CD is an uncredited remix. Does anyone know what mix it is so that I can purchase it? Thanks very much.
