“(I'm Always Touched By Your) Presence, Dear” is a song by the American rock band Blondie from their second album Plastic Letters. It was written by bassist Gary Valentine about the psychic connection he believed he had with his then-girlfriend Lisa Jane Persky while on tour with Iggy Pop.
Although Valentine left the band prior to the recording session for Plastic Letters, drummer Clem Burke convinced the band to record the song for their second album. Gary Valentine ended up recording his own version of the song for his album Tomorrow Belongs To You.
The song hit number 10 in the UK and the Netherlands and number 14 in Belgium and failed to chart in the United States.
The song has been covered by Tracey Ullman.
