They're so virtuous and overwhelming they have to call an hour long release an EP

So, am I the only one who didn't know about the hidden track at the start of the CD? Duh.

In vinyl version the first part is called ''EP7.1'' and second one is ''EP7.2'' and the artworks are very interesting...

I agree that this is one of their very best. I remember picking this up whilst wandering in a town called Havant while waiting for a train connection. I was, and still am, amazed that they released a full album as an EP; including the price. An overlooked masterpiece.

"Probably the best thing they've done. From picking this up in a Manchester record shop way back then and then listening to it today...Still better than anything else in their library. EP7 is Autechre's magnum opus. But then again, that's my shitty opinion." I share your opinion, this is one of their best. Though I think that Incunabula is just as good in its own way.

The first album where ae truly went off the deep end into the realm of hyper experimentation. I remember buying it as it released and it was quite jarring to get into it back then - it was so different. It took listen after listen - and literally months later, I "got" it. There was no turning back. Little did I know, EP7 was only the tip of the iceberg. Some 13-14 years later - Autechre is still innovating and pushing boundaries.

yeah i guess i can see why it's an ep and not a full album, but it's still great

Now it's the correct artwork. And, of course, the graphics from EP7 are great, SOTU by Depeche Mode remind me the artwork of EP7. Maybe Anton Corbijn was inspired by they.

Wrong artwork, but genial EP. Dropp it's my favourite track, this one introduced me to the fantastic sound of Autechre.

That's weird. the tracklisting is EP7, but the music is LP5. I know it's both two letters and a number, but it's not that hard to distinguish, is it? :)

I have been coming back to this record again and again ever since I bought it in 1999.It's easily my favorite autechre record, and I still haven't heard anything quite like it...A warning: it's so different from most other music that on first glance you may find it dauntingly abstract and alien. If this is your reaction, listen closer.Inside its cold exterior, you will find something truly sublime.
