This album is beautiful no matter what people say... Free & Easy and Dolls are the highlights. I don't own many of her singles in CD form but I have Free & Easy. The b-side remixes are also really good. And the music video is her best.

the dolly remix of naturally is just as superb as the original song; it's a shame it's not on spotify

this is one of those albums that you think is full of filler until you take your time to listen to each of the songs. this album is excellent and i finally understand why people love it so much!

this quote is so outdated but: "this is not the album of the year. this is the album of the life".

Such a magical album [2] hidden gem in her discography. I don't understand why it's overlooked by some people, it was always one of my favourites.

Speaking for myself only, to me it always feels almost like another artist rather than Ayu singing, it doesn't feel like herself. "I Am" feels this way too to a lesser extent. I still liked it (my scrobbles don't reflect it) but I will always think of it as the Ayu album that doesn't feel like Ayu.

i know what you mean, because she is a pop singer and this album feels much more experimental. I think she experimented (or rather, her songwriters, arrangers, and producers experimented) with many different albums including LOVEppears and Duty, but this is the most experimental and the least mainstream, I think.

(TL;DR discography opinions) this is one of my most memorable ayu albums. i think it's the first one i bought right as it was released. RAINBOW / I am... / Duty / A BALLADS are probably my favorite ayu albums of all time. her last true hit albums imo were Memorial Address and Secret. i never really got into MY STORY/(miss)understood/GUILTY/Rock'n'Roll Circus/Party Queen - which i think are all in a bit of a similar vein. Love songs and LOVE again were alright, and i recently warmed up to NEXT LEVEL in the past two years. (+ofc it goes w/o saying i love A Song for xx/LOVEppears/most of the remix and best ofs) not really sure how much stuff i'm missing since i've been super late to everything she's done since 2006.

overall a boring/ok album tbh... WE WISH, Heartplace, HANABI and independent+ are amazing though.

I dunno much about Ayumi Hamasaki, but I have to admit that cover is cool. Then again, maybe I just like the colour blue...
