“Ice V” is a single for King Gizzard’s twenty-first studio album, Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms And Lava.
Before teasing of the single had begun, the song was revealed on their tour stop in Columbus, Ohio, being included in a jam within the track “Am I In Heaven?”.
The song was first teased with a photo teaser via social media with the caption,
"Music vid comes out Wednesday too. As well as pre-order for 3 new albums hahaha YAY"
A visual teaser was then released, along with a tweet with the caption,
"🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊"
A tease of the song could be referenced in the Gizzverse Record Fair 2022 visual teaser, as two vinyl spines have the words “Ice” and “Lava” on them. The album, Changes, was also teased in this teaser as well.
